This is the Royal Pet Supplies specification for placing your product pictures and descriptions on our web site: www.royalpet.com.
Note:
In the spec below, where you see something like <12 Character UPC>, the <12
Character UPC> should be replaced by the 12 character UPC without the <
> e.g. 109896221340.jpg
1. The images should be formatted as a .gif or .jpg sized no larger than 350x350 at 72 dpi.
· If the product has a UPC, the file name should be <12 Character UPC>.gif or <12 Character UPC>.jpg.
· If the product has no UPC, the file name should be <Product ID>.gif or <Product ID>.jpg.
2. If an image applies to more than 1 UPC,
the image must be duplicated and each
file named with a unique UPC number.
Royal Pet Supplies can
accept product descriptions as either plain text (.txt) files, or as an Excel
spreadsheet. Please select the option
that works best for you:
If
you select the plain text option of supplying expanded product descriptions to
Royal Pet Supplies, you may bundle all of your product descriptions into a
single text file, or you can provide a unique text file for every product. Choose one of the options below:
1. For the expanded product description the
files must be a plain text (.txt) file.

If
the product has a UPC, the file name should be <12 Character UPC>.txt.
· If the product has no UPC, the file name should be <Product ID>.txt
2. The expanded descriptions should include in the order below:
· Line 1 - UPC (if there is one, otherwise the Product ID)
· Line 2 - Brand Name / Manufacturer
· Line 3 – Product Name
· Lines 4-N - Product Description (N indicates a variable number of Description lines). Each new description line will be represented as a new html paragraph on our website.
· Line N+1 – 1 blank line used to indicate end of Description

to end of file - Specifications (i.e. size, weight, electrical, etc.) Each specification line will be represented
as a new bulleted item on our website.
3. If a description applies to more than 1
UPC, the .txt file must be duplicated and each file named with a unique UPC
number.
4. Please refer to Product Description Sample for an example.
If you choose to bundle all of your product descriptions into a single text file, please name the file vendorname.txt (replace vendorname with your company name), and create the file in the same format described in step 2 in the “Unique text file for each product” section. Immediately following the Specification, insert an additional line containing the text “:end”. Repeat these steps for each product description. Please refer to the Bundled Description Sample for an example.
We can accept Excel spreadsheets providing they contain the following columns: UPC, Brand Name, Product Name, Description(s) and Specification(s). Each description column will be represented as a new html paragraph on our website. Each specification will be represented as a new bulleted item on our website.

1. Images / descriptions should be placed on
a CD in a single folder. Please do not
further categorize the images into additional sub folders.
2. CD should be PC format, Mac formatted
CD’s cannot be used.
3. CD’s should be sent to Royal Pet Supplies
at the address below, to the attention of Webmaster.
